An overview of consent in general practice. With constant developments in dental technology practitioners need to be aware of the implications related to consent. Patients are now more assertive, and clinicians need to understand how to communicate effectively to ensure that they have consent.

Aims
The aims of this presentation are:
• To provide an overview of the consent process to help enable effective risk management in general practice
• To help delegates consider the consent considerations which are related to advancements in dental technology and communication methods
