We're the Dental Defence Union. We're a mutual, not-for-profit organisation owned by our members, providing them with access to professional indemnity and guiding, supporting and defending them throughout their careers.
As the specialist dental division of the Medical Defence Union, the UK's leading defence organisation, we've a long history and a proven track record of being there for dental professionals in times of need.
We're also proud to be run and staffed by dentists. This means that when you call on us for help, you'll talk to someone who understands the realities of dental practice and has the experience and knowledge to guide you safely through whatever you're facing.
More than just indemnity
DDU membership offers a lot more than just indemnity when facing a claim for clinical negligence. We can give expert advice on a wide range of dento-legal issues to help you navigate your everyday practice, and our team is available 24 hours a day to make sure you have support when you need it.
We can be there to help you deal with a complaint, a GDC or police investigation, media intrusion, a court appearance, or whatever else your professional life might throw at you.
We also provide members with a suite of professional services, including:
· face-to-face and online resources to help you learn and develop
· HR resources to help with employment law and health and safety
· specialist tax and accounting services
· contract checking advice for associates, owners and hygienists/therapists
· support with dental professionals' health and wellbeing.
