The Community Dental Services CIC (CDS) team of six employees in Bedfordshire who recently made a big impact in the Bedford River Festival’s raft race and fundraised for the Mouth Cancer Foundation, have been recognised by the charity as one of their highest fundraisers. The team made up of Senior Dental Officers, Dental Nurses, a Specialist in Special Care and CDS’s Clinical Director built a raft in their free time and took part in the festival's raft race, finishing third in their heat and sixth in the final. The team’s goal was not only to have fun and showcase their raft building skills, but also to raise awareness and funds for the Mouth Cancer Foundation; a charity dedicated to helping and supporting those living with or at risk of mouth cancer, throat cancer and other head and neck cancers. The Mouth Cancer Foundation also provides valuable assistance and information to families, friends and carers of those affected by the disease.
