Edward Mapley is a lecturer in Dental Technology at Cardiff Metropolitan University, where he teaches across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. He was a founding trustee of the charity Den-Tech but now focuses on supporting specific Den-Tech projects. Before moving into academia, he worked as a dental technician in the East Kent and Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts. He was previously an Orthodontic Technicians Association (OTA) council member and has presented nationally on various subjects. He is currently studying for his professional doctorate, looking at improving access to dental devices for vulnerable groups.
