Pam Swain has been BADN Chief Exec for over 30 years, having previously worked in as an au pair in Vienna, at the Home Office Research Unit in London, NATO in Brussels, investment banking in Bermuda and having trained as a holistic therapist in Boston, MA. She is the Editor of the "British Dental Nurses' Journal", a regular columnist in "The Probe" and frequently writes in other dental publications and speaks at dental events. Pam holds the City & Guilds Licentiate in Management and a Masters in Business Administration; and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. She was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award and the Outstanding Contribution to Dental Nursing Award in 2012; and an MBE in 2025.
