Dentistry is uniquely positioned at the intersection of function, structure, and facial aesthetics. Yet many clinicians remain uncertain about how and when to introduce conversations around aesthetic treatments in a way that feels ethical, professional, and patient-centred. Confidently and appropriately introduce aesthetic discussions within routine dental consultations.
Aims
To equip dental professionals with the knowledge and communication skills to introduce facial aesthetics ethically and effectively within routine consultations, using structured frameworks that support patient-centred care, enhance understanding of perioral ageing, and align with GDC standards for professionalism, consent, and scope of practice.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate how to introduce discussions about facial aesthetics in a manner that is ethical, non-pressurised, and patient-centred - Apply structured communication frameworks within dental consultations - Use appropriate clinical language to discuss aesthetic concerns while maintaining professionalism and avoiding coercion.
