Periodontitis is an incredibly common condition with over half the UK adult population having some bone loss. We know that the earlier that we treat periodontitis, the easier it should be to stabilise, and the more likely we are to prevent significant consequence such as tooth loss. This talk looks at what we should be aiming to achieve with our patients, and how we might achieve that in practice using non-surgical treatment options.
Aims
Present the aims of periodontal treatment
Present modern periodontal treatment in the context of those aims
To outline hoe much can be achieved with non-surgical protocols
To understand maintenance regimes for periodontal stability and monitoring
