Learning Content
This session explores a structured approach to aesthetic treatment planning using the Align, Brighten, Contour (ABC) framework. It emphasises the importance of assessing both functional and aesthetic factors before undertaking composite bonding, including occlusion, tooth position and guidance patterns. Dr Affan will demonstrate when alignment and whitening should precede contouring.
Aims
To introduce delegates to the Align, Brighten, Contour (ABC) approach for minimally invasive aesthetic treatment planning, with emphasis on assessing functional and aesthetic factors before composite bonding. The session aims to improve case selection, treatment sequencing and long-term predictability in anterior composite restorations.
Learning Outcomes
- Describe the ABC treatment planning approach, assess key functional and aesthetic risk factors before bonding, recognise when alignment should precede composite treatment, and apply minimally invasive strategies to improve predictability and longevity in anterior composite cases.
