Learning Content
Composite bonding is popular for aesthetic enhancement, but success depends on assessing both appearance and function. This session introduces the ABC concept - Align, Brighten, Contour - to guide decision‑making, improve patient communication and identify when bonding is predictable, conservative and appropriate.
Aims
To introduce delegates to a structured approach for planning minimally invasive aesthetic cases by assessing functional and aesthetic factors before undertaking composite bonding, using the Align, Brighten, Contour framework.
Learning Outcomes
- Describe the ABC framework for aesthetic treatment planning - Recognise when orthodontic alignment should be considered before composite bonding to improve predictability - Identify key aesthetic and functional factors that influence anterior restorative treatment planning, including crowding, overjet, overbite and incisal guidance.
