Explore a minimally invasive approach to managing the injured vital pulp, before considering root canal therapy. We will discuss current challenges with pulpal diagnosis, case selection for vital pulp therapies and step by step clinical protocols, with practical tips for successful outcomes.

Aims

This session aims to enhance clinical understanding and confidence in managing the injured or exposed vital pulp, in order to preserve pulp vitality.

Learning Outcomes

  • Recognise the advantages of preserving pulp vitality - Understand the limitations of current pulpal diagnostic techniques and terminology - Understand the indications for vital pulp therapies and how to clinically assess the pulp status - Be able to apply effective techniques to manage the injured pulp, with the aim to preserve pulp vitality.
