During the presentation, Chris will look at five common issues in oral surgery - bisphosphonate patients, OACs, the fractured tuberosity, a patient who is difficult to anaesthetise and the bleeding socket. He’ll discuss how to pre-empt problems in these areas and offer solutions to keep you calm while managing them.
Aims
For delegates to feel more confident in managing some of the more challenging oral surgery scenarios a patient may present with.
Learning Outcomes
- Have a clear protocol for how to approach the surgical management of bisphosphonate patients - Be confident with anaesthetising ‘hot tooth’ patients- Identify risk factors associated with OAC and tuberosity fracture risks, and understand how to adjust your technique (including sectioning) to reduce those risks- How to manage the extraction patient who is bleeding.
