Learning Content
Attendees will explore common “dental fairy tales” — from flushing routines and temperature control to testing and documentation — and learn how these compare with evidence-based guidance and regulatory expectations.
Designed to be practical and proportionate, the session translates national guidance and CQC expectations into clear, achievable actions for busy dental practices. By the end of the course, delegates will be confident in identifying gaps in their current approach, avoiding common mistakes, and improving Legionella controls that protect patients, staff, and the practice.
Aims
The aim of this training is to clarify common misconceptions and “dental fairy tales” surrounding Legionella management in dental practices, provide practical, evidence-based guidance aligned with national standards and CQC requirements, and enable dental teams to identify gaps in their current approach while avoiding common mistakes.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, delegates will be able to identify common Legionella misconceptions in dental practices, compare current practices with evidence-based guidance and CQC requirements, recognise gaps, avoid common mistakes, and implement effective, proportionate controls to protect patients, staff, and the practice.
