This session will empower overseas-qualified dentists with the knowledge and confidence to thrive professionally while staying protected and compliant within UK law. It will provide insights with practical advice, real-world scenarios, and a chance to ask your own questions.
Aims
To empower you with the legal, ethical, and health and safety knowledge to work confidently and compliantly in UK dental practices. The session will help you understand your rights and responsibilities, navigate workplace challenges, and build strong professional relationships. Key responsibilities for you and your practice under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 will also be discussed.

- Understand UK employment law for dentists - Be aware of the UKs equality and diversity laws and identify protected characteristics - Understand what discrimination, bullying and harassment look like in practice - Know legal protections and grievance routes - Understand limits on professional free speech - Know safety expectations from your practice - Recognise your role in maintaining safety.
