Peri-implant and periodontal diseases are chronic inflammatory conditions linked to systemic health. This session explores links with cardiovascular disease and diabetes, highlights risk factors, and provides an evidence based approach to integrate oral systemic care into practice.
Aims
To review current evidence on periodontal and peri-implant inflammation and its systemic implications, focusing on inflammatory mechanisms, patient risk factors, and the role of risk assessment in routine dental and implant practice.
