With the increase of poly pharmacy, newer medication and complex medical histories, it is important to identify all the factors that will affect the management of patients undergoing Oral Surgery. We will discuss risk assessment with regards to these medically compromised patients and how to best manage them in a dental practice setup.

  • At the end of the session, dental care professionals will be able to identify various medical conditions and medications and how they will interferes with management of their patients in a dental practice setup.

Aims 1. Risk assessment of patients attending dental surgery. 2. Various medical conditions and how they affect management of the patient undergoing oral surgery. 3. Recap on different types of medications used. 4. How to manage dental patients taking these different types of medications.
