Joyful Brings Zero-Cost Practice Management to UK Dentistry — Replacing £1,257/Month of Software With a Single Platform
Joyful PMS: an insight into the practice management software of the future
A new practice management platform launching at the Birmingham Dentistry Show is set to challenge the economics of dental software. Joyful replaces six disconnected systems — including clinical PMS, telecoms, AI receptionist, CRM, consent workflows and membership plan management — with a single iPad-native platform that costs practices nothing. The company earns revenue not from practices, but from dental membership plans. It is the first platform in UK dentistry to align its commercial model entirely with practice growth.

Joyful Launches at Birmingham Dentistry Show With a Platform That Costs Practices Nothing — and Challenges the Entire Dental Software Model
New iPad-native platform replaces six disconnected systems at zero cost, earning revenue only when patient membership plans grow

Birmingham, UK — 15 May 2026 — Joyful, the UK's first vertically integrated practice management platform for private dental practices, will make its public debut at the Birmingham Dentistry Show, introducing a commercial model that has no precedent in the dental software market: a full-stack platform provided entirely free to practices, funded instead by dental membership plan revenue.

Where every incumbent charges practices a monthly subscription & bolt ons — the average UK private practice pays £1,257 per month across six or more disconnected systems — Joyful charges nothing. The company charges patient when they enrol on a dental membership plan. Joyful manages the conversion, billing and administration of those plans on the practice's behalf. The practice pays nothing. The incentive is entirely aligned.

The Problem Joyful is Built to Solve

UK private dentistry is an £8.4bn industry running on software built in 2005. The typical practice stitches together a clinical PMS, a separate telecoms provider, an AI receptionist, a CRM, a consent tool and a membership plan management system — none of which integrate with each other, and each sold under a separate subscription. The result is fragmentation that costs practices money, costs clinical teams time, and creates daily friction that has simply been accepted as normal.

"Dentists didn't go into practice to string six different software systems and spend their evenings doing admin work" said Jack Fraser, CEO and Founder of Joyful. "When dentistry first adopted software, it simply replaced the physical diary with a digital one — the underlying model never changed. Joyful was designed from first principles, built around today's technology, data and AI rather than retrofitted onto a thirty-year-old workflow. And crucially, we changed the incentive model entirely. We only make money when a practice's patients join a plan. That changes everything about how the platform is built — and how it performs."

One Platform. Everything Included. Nothing to Pay.

Joyful consolidates the full practice software stack into a single iPad-native interface: clinical PMS, integrated telecoms, AI receptionist, AI-assisted note capture, digital consent workflows, dental membership plan management, and patient CRM including automated recalls and communications. The platform requires minimal training and can be operational in under a day.

The membership plan model at the heart of Joyful's revenue sits within an established and growing segment of UK dentistry. It's estimated that, on average, 15-30% of UK private dental patients are already enrolled on a membership plan, with high-performing practices achieving adoption rates above 90%. The demand is not in question — the administrative burden of running a plan has historically been the barrier. Joyful removes that barrier entirely.

A Team With Deep Dental Roots

CEO Jack Fraser previously built a dental patient portal that was acquired by Henry Schein — the world's largest dental software provider, with a market cap of $7.9bn — now used by more than 6,000 dentists across the UK, Australia and Canada. The wider team includes co-founders who have already built and commercialised AI receptionist, chatbot and CRM products across multiple UK dental practices, a practising dentist who validates every clinical workflow before it ships, and designers and engineers with decades of dental-specific experience between them.

Exclusive Offers at the Birmingham Dentistry Show

Joyful will not have a traditional stand at the Birmingham Dentistry Show. Instead, the team will be on the show floor with a free ice-cream cart — no sign-up required, no pitch attached. Just ice cream, and a conversation if you want one. To find the team, follow the crowd.
