12th & 13th May - Getting to the NEC Birmingham

12th & 13th May - Getting to the NEC Birmingham

The beauty of having such an accessible venue is that there is more than one way of travelling in!

As you may be planning your visit to the British Dental Conference & Dentistry Show, here are a few ways you can make your way over to the NEC Birmingham.

Driving to the NEC

As trains may be impacted, this year we are providing parking completely free of charge for all delegates, see below for more information on this.

The NEC has an on-site carpark with over 16,500 well-maintained spaces. Thanks to the central location at the heart of the UK's motorway network, arriving by car is easy and convenient. In fact, 75% of the UK is less than 3 hours drive from the venue.

The NEC is clearly signposted from all motorways and major routes including the M42, M40 and M6 – just pop B40 1NT in your sat nav to get close, and follow the signs when you see them.

The NEC signage will guide you to the Dentistry & DTS car park, making it easy to park in the right place. Plus, during busy periods the NEC's friendly team help manage traffic flow so you can arrive and exit the site with ease.

Head out of the car parks and hop onto one of the free shuttle buses. Running throughout the day, dropping you off at the venue entrance.

If you have a disabled parking permit you don’t need to pre-arrange anything. When you arrive on site, follow the appropriate blue signage for your event and show your badge to the Attendant.

For more information, please visit the NEC website.

Complimentary Parking

This year, we will be providing parking completely free of charge for all delegates. All you need to do is follow the signs to the Dentistry car parks (East 1-5)

See the location of the car parks here.

To make sure you get your parking for free, please show your delegate badge when leaving the car park - do not forget to take your badge with you when leaving the show.

To benefit from the complimentary parking, you must show your delegate badge when leaving the car park, so don't forget to take it with you when you leave the show. We are unable to reimburse any parking paid for if you do not use the pre-paid parking by showing your delegate badge.

Trains

Although there is a reduced service with some operators, trains to Birmingham International are running. The National Rail Journey Planner has updated with planned alterations for 12 and 13 May for most train operators.

Please plan your journey in advance so you can ensure you can get to the show and do check the time of your last train home, as this may be earlier than usual.

Lift Sharing

Use the Dentistry Shows & DTS event app to connect with local dental teams, and organise a carpool. Not only will this shared journey save on costs, you could even share learnings.

We have set up a message board specifically for this. Please feel free to post if you are in need of a lift!

To access the app, you will need to sign up for the show. Once registerted, you will receive a magic sign-in link allowing you to log in and set up your profile.
